Privacy Policy

We collect your email, display name, and profile photo when you sign up. Once you're using the app, we store everything you create: tasks (content, due dates, priority, subtasks, tags), notes, calendar events, and notifications pulled from connected integrations. We also collect focus session data (duration, task worked on, outcome), daily and weekly aggregated metrics (focus score, completion rate, attention profile), app usage events (task created, focus started, etc.), and OAuth tokens for each integration you connect. Error monitoring via Sentry captures stack traces and your user ID — never passwords or OAuth tokens. Anonymous analytics run via PostHog and Google Analytics (GA4).

Account data identifies you and lets you sign in. Task, note, and calendar data is the core product — without it, there's nothing to show. Focus session data and aggregated metrics power the AI engine and your personal analytics dashboard. Usage events help the AI learn your patterns and help us improve the product. OAuth tokens are the only way to sync with GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, and Jira. Error data helps us fix bugs. Analytics data helps us understand which features are working.

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure and services needed to run Fokuzen: Firebase / Google Cloud (hosting, database, auth, functions — data stored in the US); Google Gemini(AI generation — task/notification content sent to the API, not used for training per Google's API terms); Sentry (error monitoring — stack traces + user ID, no credentials); PostHog (product analytics — user ID and feature usage events); Google Analytics / GA4 (aggregate usage, anonymized); Resend(transactional email — password reset, notification digests). The integration providers (GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Jira) only receive requests when you've explicitly connected them, and each has its own privacy policy.

When you use AI features, we send the relevant task or notification content to the Google Gemini API to generate the output. This happens server-side. Google does not use this data to train its models under its current API terms. AI-generated suggestions are automatically deleted after 14 days; daily briefs are overwritten each day. You can turn off all AI features under Settings → AI & Credits.

You can export your data by contacting us at support@fokuzen.com. You can disconnect any integration at any time from Settings → Integrations, which immediately stops that integration and deletes its data. For Google integrations (Gmail and Google Calendar), OAuth access is fully revoked when all Google integrations are disconnected. You can opt out of AI features under Settings → AI & Credits. For anonymization of aggregated metrics, contact us and we'll handle it manually.

Deleting your account (Settings → Profile → Delete account) triggers an immediate cascade that removes all your personal data within 30 seconds. This includes tasks, notes, calendar events, focus sessions, notifications, OAuth tokens, and AI suggestions. Anonymized aggregate analytics may be retained but cannot be linked back to you.

We'll update this policy as the product grows. Material changes will be announced by email and by updating the date at the top of this page.
